To get these jeans as soft as they are, we had to go against the grain. we developed a denim in a left hand weave, woven from ring spun yarns, which is much softer. You’ll feel the results the first time you touch them. You don’t have to wash them; you don’t have to break them in. It’s denim like you’ve never felt it before. Left Hand weave is the diagonal direction of the twill line in the denim fabric. Most denim and khaki fabrics are made in either right hand twill or left hand twill. Changing the weave direction to left hand from right creates a denim that is softer to the touch and accentuates the appearance of yarn character (vertical slubbiness). The denim also has a noticeably better drape. Gap Left Weave Denim also uses ring spun yarns. All denim fabric is woven from yarns that either “ring spun” or” open end” yarns. Ring spun yarns are cotton fibers that are twisted together in multiple spinning processes. Because ring spun yarns go through multiple yarn twisting, this creates a stronger, softer yarn. Gap uses ring-spun denim for a true authentic look and feel of the fabric.
